October Sunset on Lake of Bays

October sunset on magnificent Lake of Bays.  After a day of exploring Algonquin Park trails and taking in all the reds, yellows, oranges along the winding roads and trails we settled down by the dock for another show of amazing colours.

Hiking Group In Algonquin Park

Here are our happy hikers in Algonquin Park, Centennial Ridges Trail.  This trail is at km 37 and features high ridges and scenic lookouts.  The trail is 10km in length and rated difficult taking an average of 6 hours hiking.  Our guests stayed for the weekend enjoying a prime rib and trout dinner and started again the next day for another hike after breakfast.  Hiking groups are becoming more popular as guests wish to re-connect with nature.

Lake of Bays Sparkling Waters Return

Lake of Bays is sparkling again.  Last night the moon glistened off the ice and this morning we can sit on the dock and watch the ice moving, shifting, tinkling and disappearing down the lake through the streams and waterfalls to the south.
Come and join us this weekend we are expecting more of the same, sun and sparkling water.

Spring Thaw on Lake of Bays

Spring has brought sunny warm days and as you can see the ice is seperating where the streams enter from each end of  Lake of Bays.  This is a great place for water birds to land and do some early fishing.  We can't wait to hear our first loon call!

Wildlife in the Spring

Spring brings seems to bring the wildlife out to play.  Watch for fox, moose and of course deer playing in the snow.
